We met in Oxford in 2019, two weeks before John was moving back to Devon. Our first date consisted of loose-leaf tea, homemade shortbread and discussions about Tina Turner, which have all featured heavily in our relationship ever since.

Michael soon learnt the way to John's heart was via Trinity, the Springer Spaniel, who warmed to him after some bribery with treats and toys. John learnt the way to Michael's heart was via animals, Marvel, and Lizzo.

We have been dating long distance since 2019, due to work commitments, and spend our weekends between Oxford and Bovey Tracey. Soon, Michael hopes to take up a consultant post in Devon.

We have enjoyed trips exploring Cornwall, Wales and other parts of the UK, as well as trips abroad to Crete and Malta, and are looking forward to many holidays exploring more parts of the UK and further afield in the future.

Weekends are spent enjoying dog walks on Dartmoor and around Oxfordshire, cooking, baking, and frequent trips to John Lewis' where John can drop Michael off on the tech floor so he can enjoy the towel and soft furnishing departments in peace!
